The IAS-Fudan has become a host institution for world-renowned visiting scholars in social sciences. To this end, the IAS makes full use of the “Honorary Fudan Scholar” and “Distinguished Fudan Scholar” programs to invite prestigious scholars to visit the Fudan IAS as visiting scholars.

In 2018, Robert Keohane, Nannerl Keohane, Jean Marc Coicaud, Philippe Schmitter, Terry Lynn Karl, Charles Beitz, Mathias Risse, and Shann Breslin have been visiting scholars at the Fudan IAS. In the past few years, political scientist Philippe Schmitter, political scientist Terry Lynn Karl, sociologist Jeffery Alexander, legal and political scientist Jean-Marc Coicaud, and historian R.Bin Wong, among others, have visited and stayed in the Fudan IAS as visiting scholars. Since 2017, the IAS has strengthened the exchanges and cooperation between IAS research fellows and visiting scholars by holding public lectures, international seminars, and involving them in the “Annual Theme” interdisciplinary research projects and Global Justice Evaluation Index and Database Building project, etc.
