Daniel A. Bell, an internationally renowned philosopher and sociologist, is now a Fudan University chair professor and a resident researcher at the Fudan Institute for Advanced Study in Social Sciences. In 1991, he graduated from Oxford University with a Doctor of Philosophy degree. He has successively engaged in teaching and research work in countries and regions such as Singapore, the United States, and Hong Kong. His representative works include: Communitarianism and Its Critics, The China Model: Political Meritocracy and the Limits of Democracy, Beyond Liberal Democracy: Political Thinking for an East Asian Context, etc. In August 2019, Daniel A. Bell won the 13th "Special Contribution Award for Chinese Books".
